New road continued - a whole new section is open

Near my street, just around the bend all of a sudden a new set of signal lights. I drove by the day before it was still in a mess with no hint of signal lights and the next day it's suddenly open. I was surprised and excited to see where it goes and what it looks like so some of my pics aren't great.

I live near the tower

Right now it's two way traffic but will be southbound this way with the other road being built above the other direction.

Here we are already rejoined the old road at the entrance to the Surrey/Fraser docks

We turned around and are driving back the same way....gotta see what it looks like both ways!

Now we've rejoined the old River Road where this section started.

Can't wait until the whole thing is done now, I feel so proud of our road! We know more now seeing what a great job has been done after years of waiting for trucks and following a million big slow trucks and the detours! Its moving along and this road will affect our community in a very positive way.

New road continuing heading north

So just around the corner I was surprised to see the heritage house was gone....but wait there it is out of the corner of my eye, moved 20 feet away and is now hiding just behind the trees on the left.

and here is the gully
and up the other side
New stuff will be happening just around the corner where the new road should appear once again
Slow
oh look it's going up there
RR runs alongside

Higher
why so high?
leveling out now
another detour

So nice and quiet on a Sunday but bumper to bumper trucks during the week

Looking good and the rest of the plan should go more or less straight through here

Stay tuned for exciting new section near my house that just opened to traffic.

A new road through my 'hood

A couple of views of the Fraser River and New Westminster

Lots of homes were torn down but this one is a heritage house for sale $1.00 Buyer just has to take it away.
While another one bites the dust

I took the following pics heading south on River Road

something big happening here, couldn't look, i was driving

This road started out as River Road, changed to South Fraser Perimeter Road for this project and when completed will be called Hwy 17. Its going to be 4 lanes, 40 kms. long linking 3 freeways in the lower mainland of B.C.

The new road goes under the Alex Fraser Bridge

and through a sawmill

Have to turn on a detour now
Looks like a new pub maybe

New road will continue. Stay tuned for tomorrows pics heading north.

Northwest Deuce Days

Since 2000, Northwest Deuce Day has been growing in popularity.

The first event was held in Victoria B.C.’s Oak Bay Village. In 2002, the event was moved to Chilliwack, B.C. and grew in size with over 80 1932 Fords in attendance.

In 2004, it moved back to Victoria's and its inner harbour and featured 127 1932 Fords.

Then, in 2007, again at Victoria's inner harbour, the big show to commemorate the 75th anniversary of The Deuce. This show would feature over 400 1932 Fords of the 761 registered.

2010
In 2010, the event was, once again at the Inner Harbour and we had another terrific turnout. Because of the popularity of the event, it became a three-day event and the name was changed to Northwest Deuce Days (from Day).

2013
For 2013, there was once again the Friday activities, a Gala Banquet, and, of course, the main attraction on Sunday at the Inner Harbour with 477 Deuces registered and 600 other street rods in attendance.

First are the pics my hot rod hubby took and the links at the bottom will give you some more awesome stuff complete with music so turn up your speakers and enjoy.
