Oct. 16, 2018 at sea

After a nice breakfast i went to trivia in the Fyzz Lounge and joined a team of very bright people. We got ONE question wrong out of 20 questions so got very close to being awarded a foam holder or a frisbee! It was too bad as i knew the answer but had misunderstood the question.

I went to the duty free store looking to buy a can of hair spray and i did find one but it was $12. and  decided i could live w/o it. It serves me right for thinking that a dollar store can of spray would last this long! There were sales of t-shirts and jewelry in the Atrium and i tried on a ring that i loved and it was 50% off but i thought still too expensive for a little pinkie finger ring. So i mozzied on to the photography place where i asked the girl about why my camera battery shows it’s only 1/4 charged even though it had been on the charger all night. I was feeling a little stressed out about it even though i did bring two batteries i usually take so many pics one gets exhausted. She removed the battery and put it back in and voila! It showed that it was fully charged. I asked her if she had done something else that i should know and she laughed and said no, just take it out and put it back in, lol. Who knew, i might have purchased a new camera even though i really hated to because it’s rare these days to see someone with a camera much less one that has a pop up flash. Guess i’m going to be joining the new world by buying a smart phone when i get home and then i’ll join all the people who sit around staring at their phone all the time.

(Yaaaa, if i can learn how to use it) Well, i already know i’ll be mostly using it as my camera. Actually this worries me a little as i started paying attention to how people use their phones to take pictures and i noticed they fuss, and play and take forever to get the pic totally unlike the way i’ve become accustomed to holding it up and wham, pic has been taken and any problems such as a slanted horizon is easily straightened on the computer. As well, i like taking pics from bus windows and most often you have to be swift or it’s too late. I don’t know if i’d have the patience to fuss with taking each and every picture. Also, asked my roomie how many pics her phone holds and she said about 200. Well!!! My camera right now has 8000 pics on it. I really don’t think i can adapt to using a phone as my main camera. Really, the only thing on it that’s very old fashioned is my pop up flash which sometimes startles people. A plus though for the phone camera is that apparently no flash is needed. That’s the key also as i can’t or don’t want to take pics in a showroom while phone people do all the time and with videos as well and the lighting is ok for them. Conundrum!

I went to the cabin and then remembered the movie “A quiet Place” would be just starting so i beat it on down to the theatre and it had already begun but i sat down anyhow in hopes i’d be able to figure out what was happening. Well, maybe the first few minutes were pretty important as i had a hard time trying to figure out what and why this family looked so miserable and weren’t able to speak out loud.

Then somebody playing a slot machine in the casino at the end of the hall leading in to the showroom started winning and the DING, DING, DING, sound effects carried on into the show. Nobody else seemed to be bothered by it but it was so loud and distracting especially in a movie that was pretty much silent so i took off to speak to an attendant in the casino to ask him if he could close the door to either the casino or the theatre. Well, he said no, the casino door can’t be closed but he would report the problem. After awhile the sound effects ended and i don’t know if they closed the door or if the lady on that machine finally cashed out her win and took off. So with all that i was even further behind in being able to grasp why the people in the movie weren’t able to make noises even when the woman stepped on a 3”nail and then had to give birth in total silence. Stupid, Weird movie with a woman who cannot possibly be believed to be normal.

I had my dinner in the buffet and then returned to the showroom for the performance of the Queens In Rhythm Concert which was 3 women singers who sang up a storm of Aretha, Diana Ross, Whitney etc. They were good but the acoustics need to be turned down a notch or two, it was just way too loud for me. But i seriously doubt they’ll ever turn it down even though i’ve heard lots of people complaining about it.

So into the casino i wandered and my fav machine looked lonely so i sat down and fed it and got nothing in return, ungrateful thing!
So i returned home, did a little laundry and hit the sack early.
